Group photoAlcohol Focus Scotland works with people with lived or living experience of alcohol problems to ensure that their first hand experience and expertise is fed into the development of national and international alcohol policy.

How AFS can work with you?

Organisations and groups

Our involvement team can deliver sessions and workshops on various topics, such as alcohol marketing and minimum unit pricing. We can deliver bespoke sessions, tailored to your group. We can:

  • Deliver sessions on consultations about alcohol-related laws and regulations, helping you gather and articulate the views of the people you support.
  • Explain and discuss policies, such as minimum unit pricing, with your group to foster understanding and engagement.
  • Work with you on addressing local alcohol-related issues. We can take the insights gained from local collaborations to benefit other parts of Scotland and identify where national action is needed.
  • Have a project coming up? We’d be delighted to be involved!

Individuals

Our involvement team can work with you to share your views and experiences. We can offer various opportunities to get involved, such as:

  • Writing guest blogs - share your views or insights by writing blogs for our website.
  • Share your story – share your personal experience with us for our ‘Your Stories’ section on our website.
  • Working with us to create social media content.
  • Becoming a spokesperson and advocating for change e.g. by taking part in events and speaking to the media (support and training can be provided).
